Custom JumpList on Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1

Jumplist is one of the best ways in which you can keep your Windows Desktop Clean and Still Launch various Applications or Open Websites from your Windows Desktop. Jumplist appeared in Windows 7 and made through to Windows 8 and even to Windows 8.1 with configurable number of items in Jumplist. By default at max 10 items or you can say shortcuts are displayed in the JumpList for any given Software. Jumplist is just a way to launch applications or web pages and do not occupy memory / cpu. This post presents a Custom JumpList Software which you can configure on your own and is not dependent on other software apart from JumpList Manager which works on 32 bit and 64 bit variants of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1.

The above screenshot of Jumplist Software has been captured on a Windows 8.1 Computer and this Software works good on Windows 7 and on Windows 8 as well. The above Software is a basic Jumplist editor Software in which you can add your own Applications and other Shortcuts and once you are done creating your own JumpList Items, you can close the JumpList Software and pin it to the Taskbar. Now onwards whenever you right Click on the Taskbar Icon of JumpList Manager, you will be able to view and use your own custom made JumpList as displayed in the screenshot below.

Editing and Adding New Shortcuts to the JumpList is easy to do using the Buttons on the main screen of the JumpList Software. The Number of JumpList Items to display is configurable from Jumplist Properies and is applicable to all the JumpList created. Lots of Applications create their own JumpList to display commonly used Actions, Recently Opened Documents or Histor of the Application opened documents, etc.

After installation of the JumpList Manager Software, right click on the Task Bar Icon to see the default JumpList Items added by the Software itself. Yes you can delete any existing Jumplist items and add new items. Remember by default, Windows displays at max 10 JumpList Items which can be increased or decreased using the Taskbar Properties options. This Jumplist Software can be really handy to use when Windows 8 has changed it’s Start Menu and you want to launch Applications and Open Documents without navigating away from your Desktop.
