How to take a Screenshot in Windows 8 on your PC

This post will guide you to take a screen-shot and access the captured files on your Windows 8 system. Windows 8 allows you to capture everything that is on your screen and this is the first time that windows has really included a built-in way to capture screenshots.It is really simple and easy. Below are the steps that need to be followed to go about it.

1)  Switch to the start screen and launch the application of your choice or be on the screen of which you would like to take a screenshot of. To switch to windows 8 start screen either press the windows key on your keyboard or just move your cursor to the bottom left on your screen and click on the start menu pop-up that appears on your desktop screen.

2) Now to take a screenshot of the screen you wish to, you need be on that particular screen and then hold down the windows key and press “Prt Scr”(print screen) key on your keyboard i.e Windows+Prt Scr. The screenshot will be generated and will be saved in the Screenshot folder of your PC automatically. All you need to do is to open the screenshot folder and you will find the screenshot file in there. To access the folder you need to hold on the windows key and letter “E” on your keyboard i.e “Windows+E”. This particular combination opens the windows explorer on your screen as shown in screenshot below.

3) Now to open the Screenshot folder, click on “Pictures” under the Libraries category in the Windows Explorer as shown in the screenshot below. Now you will be able to see the folders associated with the picture library and one of the folders will be “Screenshot Folder” that you are searching for.

4) Double click on the “Screenshot Folder” to open it and then you will find the screenshot file that you had taken which gets saved in this particular folder automatically. This is how to take a screenshot in Windows 8 system and all the files that you have done the screenshot for, gets saved in this particular folder by default.
